Leilani lost 57 pounds on The Fast Metabolism Diet — and gained better skin, a happier mood, and a revved-up marriage. Here is Leilani’s story.

Q: What led you to try The Fast Metabolism Diet?

My brother lost weight using Haylie’s plan. He set me up to work with Haylie. It’s absolutely the best thing I have ever done for myself.

Q: How was this diet different than others you’ve tried in the past?

Haylie’s plan wasn’t restrictive. It told me exactly what to eat and why.

Q: How did you feel while on the diet?

I felt more energetic! Better skin and better mood, too.

Q: What were your favorite foods/phase?

My favorite phase was Phase Three. I liked the toast, avocado, and tomato for breakfast during that phase. I also enjoyed sweet potato fries (Phases One and Three). Haylie’s chili was what I ate the most (Phases One and Three), because it was so easy to make.

Q: What was the most challenging aspect and how did you overcome it?

Planning ahead was my biggest challenge. My best strategy was to break down my grocery shopping by phases. I’d buy Phase One foods on Sunday (to eat on Monday and Tuesday), Phase Two foods on Tuesday (to eat on Wednesday and Thursday), and Phase Three foods on Thursday (to cover the rest of the week).

This kept me from phase-swapping, too. If I had cashews (Phase Three) sitting around all week, I’d want to eat them!

Q: How much have you lost?

I have lost 57 pounds and kept it off for over a year.

Q: How are you keeping it off?

I’m not afraid of food or cooking anymore. I read labels, too, which really helps keep the weight off.

Q: Did you notice changes other than weight loss?

After losing 50 pounds, my energy, confidence, and passion are stronger than ever. My 21-year marriage has not only been rekindled — it has been set on fire!
