3 Truths About the Metabolism
The very thing that we all do every day (EAT) is the very thing we must do in order to sustain life. Eating can be turned into a tool for creating the body, the health, the very experience we desire to have on this earth. Here are three truths about the metabolism.
1. If it is fake, it’s a huge mistake when it comes to weight loss.
Carcinogens are known to cause cancer and obesogens are known to cause obesity and yet the majority of every major diet food product on the market is loaded with obesogens, artificial additives, preservatives, and sweeteners that actually inhibit weight loss and promote weight gain.
2. Carbohydrates are not the enemy. We just need a fast metabolism to turn them into fuel.
Carbs are great resources, especially in women, for energy and feel-good mood elevating hormones! (STATISTIC: IN AMERICA 1 in 4 WOMEN OVER 50 ARE ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS) Carbs transform to happiness, like a lump of coal into a diamond under the right metabolic environment
3. Fall in love with food.
What are the three things more fattening than pork rinds? Suffering, guilt, and stress. Those three things are just not on my program! Never stop loving what real, nutrient-dense food does for you and your body. Appreciate and respect what nutrients have to offer and the potential they hold for you.
You see pleasure stimulates the metabolism by triggering the adrenals to produce endorphins. These endorphins— what we know as the feel-good brain messengers— stimulate the brain to produce serotonin, a mood-elevating brain hormone that in turn stimulates the thyroid to produce the fat-burning hormone. Talk about a chain reaction. Pleasure sets off a cascade of events that lower leptin levels, a hormone that makes you hungry. After sex, your leptin levels are lowest. Taking pleasure in food can have the same effect.
Stay in tune with how you feel before you eat, and how you feel after you eat, keep tabs on what foods make you feel good and what foods you might want to avoid. You never have to fear food again.
