Beef Kefta Patties with Cucumber and Lemon

Beef Kefta Patties with Cucumber and Lemon

Ingredients

1 pound ground sirloin
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, divided
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon chopped peeled fresh ginger
2 teaspoons ground coriander
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups thinly sliced English cucumber
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Heat a nonstick grill pan over medium-high heat. Combine the beef, 1/4 cup parsley, cilantro, and the next 5 ingredients in a medium bowl. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions, shaping each into a 1/2-inch-thick patty. Add the patties to the pan; cook 3 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.

  2. Combine the cucumber, lemon juice, remaining 2 tablespoons parsley, and pepper in a small bowl. Arrange 1 patty and 1/2 cup cucumber mixture on each of 4 plates, and serve.
