Cooking With Haylie - Spicy Tuna Brown Rice Poke Bowl
This homemade Spicy Tuna Brown Rice Poke Bowl is a quick, delicious meal that comes together with a wonderful marinade! If raw fish isn't your thing, or if you just want to try something different, you can substitute 1 pound chicken or pork, marinated and then sautéed until cooked through, for the tuna.

Ingredients
1/4 cup coconut aminos
2 tablespoons minced fresh ginger
1 tablespoon sriracha or chili garlic sauce
1 tablespoon unseasoned rice vinegar
1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
24 ounces sashimi-grade raw runa, cubed
1/4 cup avocado mayo or safflower mayo
1 to 2 tablespoons red chile paste
4 cups cooked brown rice, cooled but not refrigerated
1/2 medium daikon radish, spiralized
4 mini cucumbers, spiralized
1 carrot, cut into ribbons with a vegetable peeler
12 snow peas
1 avocado, cut into small cubes
2 scallions, thinly sliced
Directions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the coconut aminos, ginger, sriracha, vinegar, sesame oil, and sesame seeds. Add the tuna and stir to coat with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, stir together the mayo and red chile paste. Add the tuna a marinade to the mayonnaise mixture and stir to coat the tuna. Cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- To serve, put 1 cup of the rice in each bowl, layer the daikon, cucumbers, carrots, snow peas, and avocado in each bowl. Scoop the tuna from the bowl with a slotted spoon and divide it among the bowls. Drizzle with the marinade remaining in the bowl, and top with the scallions.
