One year and 300,000 pounds on the Fast Metabolism Diet
It’s hard to believe it — a year ago we were celebrating the launch of the Fast Metabolism Diet. Thousands of pounds, and thousands of fans later, here’s a glimpse into our year.
300,000 pounds. Probably a lot more.
That’s a bit of a guess, but here’s how we got there. On our app, users can log their weight daily. But we didn’t start looking at that data until a few month after the app was launched. As of this month, app users have recorded 200,000 pounds lost. But that’s just that app. Many, many more readers aren’t using the app and have also lost literally tons of weight. We can’t know the exact number; it’s probably way more than twice that of those using the app, but we’ll be conservative and tack on another 100,00 pounds. But talk about seeing less of you!
You guys sure love chili
On our website, our chili recipes continue to be the most popular recipes. Check out the recipe for turkey chili — it’s still a favorite in my house too. And if you want to give your chili recipes a twist, check out these recipes for metabolism-healing chili, including one with no tomatoes.
Who doesn’t love a makeover?
Also big hit has been our series of family-friendly recipes made FMD-friendly. Hardly a day goes by that someone doesn’t tell us how much their kids loved the chicken nuggets.
- Chicken Nuggets
- Sloppy Joe’s and chili mac
- Cashew chicken
- Tuna salad
- Mashed ‘potatoes’ and gravy
- Tuna casserole
- Dairy-free mac and cheese
I love our little chats
We love hearing from you and answering your questions. My team and I have answered more than 30,000 of them! Readers can talk to us on Facebook, Twitter or here on the website. But my favorite are our live web chats, where I can answer questions live. We announce our next Spreecasts in our weekly newsletter. You can watch our past question-and-answer sessions right here.
We salute our fan clubs
The Haylie Pomroy Facebook page is a great place to interact with others, but we’re so impressed by some special super-fans who’ve created something magical: Private support groups on Facebook. The original FMD Support Group is now more than 3,000 strong. Members share recipes, encouragement, tips and tools for getting organized, and answer questions from those new to the diet. The Italian-language support group, FMD It Gruppo Di Supporto, also boasts more than 3,000 members.
Special thanks to the wonderful volunteer organizers who manage these two groups. Both are closed Facebook groups; just click on the links above and ask to join.
